April 6 2015 | Honduran military authorities announced March 27 that some 250 U.S. Marines arriving soon will be based at the U. S. airbase at Soto Cano. Equipped with a high-speed “JHSV Spearhead” catamarans at least four “CH-53E Super Stallion” helicopters,” and possibly “MV-22 Osprey tilt rotors and KC-130 Hercules tankers,” they are part of the “Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-South.”
The official version of their mission is to carry out “training for forces in the region, humanitarian assistance missions, and anti-drug operations.”

A poll published over the weekend suggested the majority of Brazilians support opening impeachment proceedings against Rousseff, whose second term in office has been buffeted by a corruption scandal at Brazil’s largest company, oil giant Petrobras, as well as a stalled economy, a sliding currency and political infighting. Only 13 percent of survey respondents evaluated Rousseff’s administration positively.

On March 9, President Obama issued an executive order declaring that Venezuela is “an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security” and ordered sanctions on seven Venezuelan state officials. The U.S. has maintained a hostile stance to Venezuela and it’s government, including CIA and other meddling and support for coup attempts.
