Barbed wire and moats. Military-style barricades at the Hennepin County Government Center kept the citizenry away from the trial of Derek Chauvin, the policeman who murdered George Floyd. It’s been reported that the city of Minneapolis could have spent up to $1 million dollars or more on fortifying government buildings and police precincts.
