Julian Assange, WikiLeaks publisher, has been imprisoned in Belmarsh Prison in London for 33 months awaiting a decision on his extradition to the United States where he is wanted for publishing evidence of U.S. state crimes. Chelsea Manning was a U.S. Army intelligence analyst who was courtmartialed and imprisoned for seven years for leaking evidence of U.S. war crimes to WikiLeaks. Aaron Swartz, was a child prodigy computer programmer, and the brains behind Reddit, the RSS feed and Creative Commons. When he sought to make academic papers behind a paywall free to the public he was pursued by the government, leading to his suicide in 2013.
